WHAT IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION?

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a specialized form of tattoo to give the illusion of hair. It resembles short hair stubbles after buzzing down or shaving. Well done SMP looks like real hair follicles!

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT SMP ARTIST?

For each and every single session, I strive to give my clients the most natural and most suitable hairline for them. My best is all I can offer!

I've undergone trainings and apprenticeships under some of the best SMP artists in the world and have since developed my own technique, style, and approach to uphold world class SMP here in the Philippines.

Hyperrealistic Hairlines is my unique style and approach to SMP. This has garnered me great opportunities to share my expertise around the world as a speaker in SMP conferences and classes and a judge for an SMP competition.

Check my portfolio out. The consultation can allow you to interview me for the job!

WHO DOES THE PROCEDURES?

There are 2 artists: myself, Miko Andrade and Aaron Hernandez

I have shared my wisdom and knowledge to many artists around the world but none more so than my apprentice, Aaron. I've been closely working with him for the past couple of years so he can offer word class SMP to his clients!

WHY DO I ENCOURAGE THE CONSULTATION?

As much as possible, I require the consultation as a prerequisite to the procedure. We can do the consultation though email, messengers from our social media pages, or if necessary, a video call through zoom or an in-person consultation in our studio. This is so we can address any and all questions you may have about SMP!

The consultation is also our opportunity to discuss the rates specific to your case. The price is a factor when choosing your SMP artist, although it should NOT BE THE ONLY consideration. Allow us to explain why this is the case and present our expertise and value!

HOW MUCH DO THE CONSULTATION AND PROCEDURE COST?

Consultations are absolutely FREE! May it be in-person or online!

As for our rates, these start at Php 45,000. This includes all the necessary sessions to complete the look of a shaved Norwood Class 2/3 (Norwood is a commonly used hair loss scale which starts at 2 and goes up to level 7).

For your exact quotation, you may email us or contact us through our social media.

SINCE SMP IS A TATTOO CAN I JUST GO TO A BODY TATTOO ARTIST TO HAVE IT DONE?

SMP is a specialized form of tattooing. An SMP artist uses ink, needles, machines, and of course, techniques specifically for SMP which are different from tools and supplies used for body tattoos.

Unless the body tattoo artist is also trained in SMP, it would be best for you to do your research. Meet the artist prior to your appointment and see actual photos of their work. Botched SMP is very hard to correct. Please do your research!

DOES SMP HELP HAIR GROW?

NO, SMP doesn’t impede hair growth nor does it encourage hair growth. There may be anecdotal evidence for this but it's not something that I can claim scientifically.

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

You can book an appointment for either the consultation or procedure by calling or texting us at +63 916 553 9767. If you’re based abroad, you can reach us through Viber or WhatsApp. You may also contact us through email or our Facebook and Instagram pages.

For the procedure, we require a 50% down payment to secure the slot. If you haven’t gone through the consultation to discuss the pricing in detail, we would still require a downpayment which we can discus in our private correspondence.

DO I NEED TO SHAVE OR BUZZ DOWN FOR THE CONSULTATIONS OR THE PROCEDURE?

For most cases, yes, we recommend shaving or buzzing down. This is so I can blend the work with the hair stubbles. The more blended the SMP is with the hair, the fuller it looks!

DOES SMP HURT?

There may be discomfort however, discomfort levels vary from person to person.

It helps if you're comfortable during the procedure. Make sure you're well rested the night before and have had something to eat just before going to the studio.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?

Generally, it takes about 2-3 sessions to get the best results and each session is about 2-3 hours long. Some cases, such as Alpecia Areata and Totalis or including scar camouflage work, like hair transplant or surgical scars, may need longer or additional sessions.

Further, we can't compress 2-3 session in just 1 day! Letting the scalp heal before doing further work is a crucial part of the process. In my experience, spacing the sessions at least 10-15 days apart to helps the scalp heal and recover and helps the pigment settle well underneath the skin.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

SMP lasts about 4-5 years. Fading is to be expected and we may expect considerable fading around 2-3 years after completing the sessions. This can be address with touchups every 2-3 (or even 4!) years.

If you are exposed to the sun a lot, sweat heavily on a regular basis, and swim often, we can expect the lifespan of the SMP to be at the lower end of the range. Using mild soaps, moisturizing, using sunscreen, as well as avoiding the elements help with the longevity of the SMP.

For scalp mattifying moisturizers, scalp sunscreens, and scalp anti-shine products, inquire with us!

WHY DO I NEED TO NEED TO MAKE A DEPOSIT TO BOOK FOR A PROCEDURE?

As we are opening our availability to you, we also would like to ensure that you are certain about your availability on the day and time of your appointment.

The MANScalp Difference!

You may recognize some of my clients. I'm thankful for the opportunity to be able to work with them so you can check how their SMP looks outside of the photos I post. Whether it be on TV, on their social media, or if you bump into them, you'll see how SMP can be made natural and hyperrealistic!
